Paypal Billing Agreements

Md.Mahmudul Hasan Tuhin shared this idea 8 years ago
Under Consideration

It would be great if Blesta could support paypal billing agreements. This way, we can drop paypal subscriptions. If someone downgrades, upgrades, adds a service, etc, you need to cancel the subscription, and have the customer set it back up again.

It's a very tedious process, especially when there's something simpler available with Paypal. The goal is the least amount of work a customer has to do, the better. Customers want things to just *work* and not have to perform billing's job.

Can we get this feature put in place in the near-ish future please?

Are there any news about this? We really need this. We are changing from another software to blesta where we have the Paypal Billing Agreements, this would be really missing for us. The most of our customers pay with Paypal Billing Agreement.

I've made a gateway for this, if anyone is interested, you can reach me via Discord @djsharp, I'm in Blesta Discord named Aleksa | CodeCats.uk

It'd be nice to instead see Blesta create an officially supported paypal billing agreements extension.

Although Aleksa mentioned he made a third party one, I'd rather put my trust in Blesta to keep it updated and free of bugs, when it comes to core payment related extensions such as payments. Especially considering this request is such a highly voted item where many will use it.

That would very much be the preferred outcome. However, I doubt Blesta will be implementing this into the core, especially considering Billing Agreements are deprecated and will fully be disabled in about a year/two from what I've seen/heard.

All of my plugins so far are a one-time charge that gives you full source code access to it, and all of my plugins I've developed over the past 2, almost 3 years are fully working with the latest version of Blesta and have had bugs fixed relatively quickly (though gotta be honest I've got a queue of some minor bugs that I'm yet to push a fix for...), so feel free to give at least some of the free ones a go to see for yourself :)
