Email Address Verification

Michael shared this idea 7 years ago
Completed

After a user is completing the checkout, the account will be created. After the user will get an email with a "verification" code to enter on the page before they can continue.

This will prevent fake orders and help confirm the email address the customer will be using.

I recommend this happens when a user changes the email address as-well.

Allow Admins to disable this feature and bypass it when adding a user manually on the backend to allow flexibility which Blesta is known for :P.

+1. and i want to see this as a components like the fraud check, that way we can add owr own verification system like SMS or Phone call or any other available method.

Question for you on this:

Allow Admins to disable this feature and bypass it when adding a user manually on the backend to allow flexibility which Blesta is known for :P.

Admins can add services to clients and create clients. If enabled, an email will be sent to the client to verify the email, but this won't prevent an admin from doing anything, it will only prevent the client from either: 1. completing their order, can't make payment without verification or 2. can complete order and pay, but order will be held and not provisioned or 3. no action on part of the order system, orders handled normally without verification, but client still asked to verify for other potential purposes. So, some options when configuring the Order Settings when Client Email Verification is enabled.

Sound fine?

Sounds fine to me mate.

I prefer the number 1. where they can't pay or view the client area without verifying the account.

I like OPTION ONE

Even with option 1, the client would be able to see the client area but they could not pay in the client area or order form. In a separate task we plan to add some new client statuses that could prevent a new client after just placing an order and registering from accessing the client area (or having only very limited access) until their order is approved. See https://dev.blesta.com/browse/CORE-2222 for that option. :)
