Domain Manager Date Offset for Domain Renewal
Completed
It would be great to have a date offset setting in Domain Manager to allow renewal of domains X number of days prior to expiration to provide a safety cushion in case something goes wrong with domain renewal. The date offset would also make it possible to renew domains before the registrar sends out any reminder emails to the client, which can be confusing to clients.
Currently, the only ways to accomplish this are to disable domain synchronization and advance the date of domain renewal for each domain or to disable emails at the registrar, both of which are less desirable methods.
For example, in Settings > Plugins > Domain Manager > Settings, there could be a place for the offset.
Please see https://dev.blesta.com/browse/CORE-4439 I believe this task describes what you are looking for. Essentially domains would be able to be invoiced on a different schedule than services that you can define. Would this accomplish what you are after?
Hi Paul,
Yes, it describes exactly what I'm after. That would be great!
It's not clear what the increments of the "Renew Days Before Expiration" are going to be between 2 Days and 90 Days in the task, but it will be good to have some increments between 30 and 90 days.
Some registrars--eNom, for example--begin sending out renewal notices to the registrant at 30 days. Those reminders can be very confusing to clients who believe they have auto-renewal set through Blesta. To avoid that, we have been renewing domains at >=32 days before expiration.
I understand why you wouldn't want to create a select with too many increments, but if there were at least a 45 day option that would be good.
