Klarna checkout

Under Consideration

Klarna is a merchant which allows you to offer your services / products to your customers and allow them to pay over a certain period.

This allows customers to pay a little every month, etc.

I'm not sure if it's the checkout one or Klarna payments, but I think the checkout one sounds best.

It's worth mentioning that Klarna (prev. Sofort) is currently the most popular "Pay Later" technology in the world, with 53% of websites on the entire internet, which is higher than Afterpay, Sezzle, ZipPay, and Affirm combined.

Over 1/3 of all transactions are from Germany. That said, would be great to see it being added to Blesta.

Could we not just expand stripe to accept more of what it allows? I do like the idea of Klarna, pretty sure a separate gateway would be time consuming but I would imagine opening up to more stripe options would be a cool way for a majority of Blesta users

With Klarna, does Blesta assume that the payment was made in full and then Klarna handles the future payments? Because in order for an order to be provisioned, for suspensions not to happen, and for late notices not to go out the invoice must be paid in full.

Regarding other payment methods issued by Stripe, they would need to be implemented as a separate gateway, not part of the current Stripe implementation.

From what I understand, Klarna works like a normal payment gateway such as Stripe, Square, etc. If a costumer makes a purchase, Klarna pays the merchant in full and collects the installments directly to the customer. So yes, Blesta should treat it as a full payment. Reading a little bit about Stripe + Klarna, it works the same, but you get paid out through Stripe. Stripe allows Klarna to be integrated on their checkout page, and the customer can choose to either pay in full or in installments through Klarna. https://stripe.com/docs/payments/klarna/accept-a-payment?platform=web

I truly think this would be an awesome integration. It would definitely attract more customers, specially for companies (example: web designers) who sell one time payment products.
