To clarify. You are referring to the support manager department list. You would like to add a new field to departments, that is only for determining their sort order. That seems like unnecessary clutter, but we could definitely consider adding widget filters to this table like we have to the tickets table.

I'm not following, under Packages in the staff area, you can sort by Package ID, or Name, or any of the fields listed. Are you suggesting a sort order so that Staff can organize the default Package listing in the admin area or for the order form? Packages can be sorted by drag-n-drop within Package Groups, and Package Groups can be sorted on the order form, which sets their display order on order forms.
