Backblaze B2 Cloud Backup Destination

Under Consideration

Backblaze B2 is a relatively new S3 alternative, however it's costs are significantly less, and there are even free tiers.

This may be more useful for those whom wish to backup over longer periods of time and maintain insignificant expenses.

There are a number of B2 sdk/libs in composer already, so extending functionality should be relatively simple, but would serve as a value add. (Plus, I already use B2 for backups, so for me it'd be much simpler :P).

I had seen in web related forum that their restore speeds aren't so quick...

I've never heard that before, nor had any issues with it at all.

I've been using B2 Cloud pretty much since it started.

Please note that B2 is separate from their normal backup solutions and is comparable to S3.

In fact the only one I know to be super slow snd expensive to recover is Amazon Glacier.

Considering you can use b2 cloud as a public static file host, it does not make sense for it to be slow to read/write.

This should be very simple to implement given that AWS S3 is already in core.
